Tell us a bit about yourself
I’m a writer of books for children, including the award-winning, “Not Afraid of Dogs,” a book illustrator, a playwright of over 15 produced plays, and soon, I’ll be webisode creator/producer, as one of my popular plays, “Clucky, The Brave Little Hen,” turns into a series.

I live in New York City and regularly visit my home state of Kansas. I get the best of both worlds.

My childhood dream was to be a cowboy-veterinarian…no, not a cowgirl, as people like to try and correct me, I was a cowboy! During 5th grade, I started to admit that yes, maybe I was a girl, but I still planned to be a veterinarian like my father. I gave up that dream when I discovered acting in high school and spent the next 15 years in the theatre.

I have written since I was a child. Some of the more memorable projects were a complete dog training manual in 3rd grade and a full length screenplay in 6th grade…a western…it was to star John Wayne and myself.

What’s your passion? What makes you tick?
First and foremost, being an aunt. It’s my true calling.
Next, painting…I love Love LOVE to paint.
Drawing makes me super happy…and writing is like breathing, just what I do.

What’s your wildest dream for Project OpenBook?
To truly change a life…and thus, change the course of the world.
