Brad Sneed

It is no exaggeration to say that Brad Sneed is plum amazing. His artwork is simply incredible. But he’s also a heckuva guy. Husband to Dena. Father to Emily. Celebrated illustrator (and sometimes author) of over twenty children’s books. Brad is a co-founder of MarbleSpark and Project OpenBook. He lives in Prairie Village, Kansas. I count myself lucky to call him friend.

Tell us a bit about yourself.
I grew up in Kansas. When I came to the realization that I would never be a cowboy or professional football player, I decided to be an artist. So I went to college where I learned how to illustrate picture books. Over twenty years (and 20+ books) later, I spend most days in my studio, drawing and painting. I can’t imagine a cooler job, though every once in a while I still dream of being a cowboy or football player!

What’s your passion? What makes you tick?
Being a husband to Dena and a dad to Emily are tops on the, “what I love most” list. I also like outdoor adventures, remodeling projects, and figuring out what plants will look nice in our yard.

What’s your wildest dream for Project OpenBook?
To help a child, who then grows up and helps a child, who then grows up and helps a child, who then grows up and…

Where can people find out more about you?
