Eowana Jordan

Eowana JordanTell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a retired teacher / school librarian, a.k.a. “bunhead”. I taught and ” libraried” in Denver Public Schools, American Schools in Europe (Wiesbaden, Germany) and with Prince William Public Schools in Virginia. I have a BS in education from Oklahoma State University, and MLS in library and info science from Catholic University. I’m the wife of a prince of a husband, Dr. Lenny Krieg and mother to two Norwich terrier sisters Penelope and Pandora. I’ve published poems in I HEARD YOU TWICE THE FIRST TIME POEMS FOR TIRED AND BEWILDERED TEACHERS written and collected by Kalli Dakos.

What’s your passion? What makes you tick?
I’d guess the answer to that is my Greek blood from my Dad, who was born in 1895 in Turkey, and my insight into people and creative nature I got from my Mom who is from one of the oldest families in southern Illinois. He was a gambler, independent oil man, who could talk to anyone, loved to fish and hunt and my Mom was the writer, the artist who believed in recognizing an opportunity and had the guts to act on it!

What’s your wildest dream for Project OpenBook?
To reach as many children and show them the joy of reading as we can!

Where can people get more of you?
You can see me on Youtube.com singing a song I wrote about Edgar A. Poe and playing the piano with a raven on my shoulder! (Search for Eo the librarian.) You can find me Monday through Friday in Manassas, Virginia and on weekends at our cabin on top of Phoenix mountain outside of Romney, WV.
